Around 5PM the company was dispatched along with Medic and QRS 105 Fitz Hospital EMS to Wycombe and the railroad for a vehicle struck by a train. As units were responding updated information changed the location to Union and the railroad. Fireboard also advised that police were on location reporting there was entrapment. Units arrived to find a car with 5 passengers struck by a SEPTA commuter train. All 5 passengers in the car were suffering from surprisingly minor injuries considering the situation. Command then requested 2 additional BLS units bringing Ambulance 24 East Lansdowne and 03 Clifton Heights. Command also requested an additional rescue bringing Rescue 16 Yeadon. Crews then re-evaluated the scene and determined there was no entrapment and all subjects could be removed from the car through the passenger door. Ambulance 04 Darby was also requested to the scene. In all 5 patients 2 adults and 3 children were transported to local hospitals. Crews then assisted SEPTA personnel in the off loading of the train so that all passengers could be loaded onto another train. The company was in service for about 90 minutes.
